Hay guys. This is my first tutorial in 2 years (:S), but this isnt the best tutorial, but its good enough, right?
Alright, so today I'm going to show you how to mod your Speedswarm. The mods that will be covered will be:
- Air Restrictor Removal.
- Seal Improvements.
- Spring Additions.
The materials needed:
- Phillips-Head Screwdriver
- Flat-Head Screwdriver
- Electrical Tape
- Wire Cutterz (See what I did there?)
- Dremel
- An extra spring (I used a Maverick Spring)
- LUUUUBE
Alright, lets get this started.
Dissasembly
First off, This is what we will be starting with.
No battery door. Get that out! |
Quite a bute, ain't it? |
Exploded view. |
Air Restrictor Removal
Now we are going to remove that pesky AR. For the turret, just cut out the pegs using some wire cutters.
If yours don't look like this, THEN YOU ****ED UP |
You can remove the main AR using multiple methods. I used a dremel and a hammer with a LARGE Flat-head screwdriver. You can also use pipe cutters to get it out cleanly, but I chose a dremel because I modded this a while ago and didn't have the skills or the balls to use pipe cutters, thats why I used a Dremel/ Hammering the f*ck out of it. And whatever you do, DO NOT REMOVE THE FOAM SEAL. Otherwise, you speedswarm will be a piece of sh*t otherwise.
This is what I got. |
Spring Additions
I tested it with the stock spring and got some good results, but I wanted some extra power out of it. So I decited to add a spring. For this, I used a maverick spring. This will give about 5-10ft range increase from the stock spring alone.
MOAR POWAR!!! |
Seal Improvenents
For this. You need to pop off the O-ring out of the plunger rod. Then wrap about 4 layers of E-Tape. Then place the O-ring back on the plunger rod. Then LUBE HER UP.
Re-Assembly
Now we are going to put this thing back together. Put your PT back in the internal shell, same thing with the turret, and squeeze the two halfs of the shell together.
This is what it should look like. |
Best. Pic. Ever. |
Right now I am getting around 45-50ft with taggers.
Hope this helps, and is good. :)
Regards,
